Permanent hair reduction for all skin types (I–VI) using dual‑wavelength technology (755 nm Alexandrite & 1064 nm Nd:YAG). Safe, fast and effective for face and body.
Ideal if you're tired of waxing, shaving and ingrown hairs. Treatments are tailored by a qualified practitioner.
Laser energy selectively targets the pigment in hair follicles to disrupt future growth while protecting the surrounding skin. With the Cynosure Elite+, we select Alexandrite or Nd:YAG depending on your skin type and hair.
Most clients need 6–12 sessions spaced 4–8 weeks apart to treat hairs in different growth cycles. You’ll usually see a visible reduction after 2–3 sessions.
Treatment sensation is often described as a quick “rubber band snap”. Integrated cooling helps keep you comfortable.

• Underarms
• Bikini, Brazilian, Hollywood
• Legs: half or full
• Back and shoulders
• Chest and abdomen
• Arms and hands
• Suitable for all skin types I–VI using Cynosure Elite+ (Alexandrite 755 nm and Nd:YAG 1064 nm).
• Works on dark, coarse hair. Blonde, grey/white and most red hairs have little/no pigment and are not responsive to laser — for these we recommend Electrolysis (also available at our clinic).
Contraindications/Cautions: pregnancy, active tan/sunburn, photosensitising medication, active skin infections, open wounds. A patch test is required before treatment.
• Shave the area 24 hours before your appointment (do not wax, thread or pluck for 4 weeks before treatment).
• Avoid sun exposure, sunbeds and fake tan for 2 weeks prior; always use SPF 50.
• Pause retinoids, strong AHA/BHA or exfoliants on the area for 3–5 days before.
• Arrive with clean, product‑free skin.
• Mild redness/bumps are normal and usually settle within hours. Soothe with aloe vera or a cool pack.
• Avoid hot showers, saunas, steam rooms, vigorous exercise and swimming for 24–48 hours.
• Protect with SPF 50 daily; avoid sunbeds and tanning for at least 2 weeks.
• Do not wax/thread/pluck between sessions; shaving is fine. Begin gentle exfoliation 3–4 days after to help prevent ingrowns.
Free consultation and patch test. Prices start from £30 per session depending on the area. Tailor‑made packages available. Courses of 6 sessions receive a 10% discount.
Is it permanent? Laser offers long‑term, permanent hair reduction. Most people need 6–12 sessions; occasional maintenance may be needed due to hormones and new follicle activity.
Does it work on dark skin? Yes. We use the Nd:YAG wavelength which is safe and effective for darker skin types when performed by a trained practitioner.
Does it work on light hair? Laser targets pigment, so blonde, grey/white and most red hairs don’t respond well. Electrolysis is our alternative for those hairs.
How long does a session take? From 10 minutes for small areas (e.g., upper lip) to 60 minutes+ for large areas (e.g., full legs or back).
Electrolysis is the only FDA‑recognised method of permanent hair removal. It targets individual follicles and works on every hair colour (including blonde, grey/white and red) and on most skin types. Ideal for small areas, shaping, or hairs that don’t respond to laser.
A fine, sterile probe is inserted into the natural opening of the hair follicle, delivering a small amount of energy to disable the growth cells.
Thermolysis uses radiofrequency (heat) to destroy the follicle quickly. Galvanic creates a tiny chemical reaction for precise destruction. Blend combines both for effectiveness and comfort. Your electrologist will choose the best method for your skin, hair and area.
Because each hair is treated individually, Electrolysis is ideal for facial hairs, light or white hairs, and finishing work after Laser treatments.

• Clients with blonde, grey/white or red hairs that do not respond to laser
• Small areas and precise shaping (e.g., eyebrows*, upper lip, chin)
• Hormonal or stubborn hairs (e.g., PCOS)
• Final clearance after Laser Hair Removal
*We do not treat directly on the eyelid margin.
Each hair is treated individually. The number of sessions depends on the area, hair density, and growth cycles. Most clients benefit from weekly or fortnightly sessions initially, then taper to monthly as growth reduces. Electrolysis results are permanent for treated follicles.
Sensation varies by area and method, often described as a quick heat or tingle. Topical anaesthetic and cooling can be used to increase comfort.
• Avoid waxing, threading or tweezing for 2–3 weeks before (shaving or trimming is fine).
• Arrive with clean, product-free skin. Pause active skincare (retinoids, AHA/BHA) on the area for 3–5 days pre‑treatment.
• Avoid sunbeds and minimise sun exposure; use SPF 50.
• Mild redness or swelling around follicles is normal and should settle within hours.
• Keep the area clean and avoid touching. Skip makeup, hot showers, saunas, steam rooms, swimming and strenuous exercise for 24–48 hours.
• Apply a soothing gel (e.g., aloe vera) as needed. Use SPF 50 daily.
Electrolysis session prices:
• 20 minutes: £35
• 30 minutes: £45
Free consultation. Patch test if required.
We offer safe, precise cosmetic removal of common benign lesions using Advanced Electrolysis (short-wave diathermy). Quick appointments with minimal downtime.
Please note: We do not diagnose skin conditions. Suspicious, changing or pigmented lesions should be assessed by your GP or dermatologist before any cosmetic treatment.
Skin tags (acrochordons): Small soft growths commonly found on the neck, underarms, bra line, and groin. They are cauterised at the base to remove them quickly.
Milia: Tiny white keratin-filled cysts often on the cheeks or around the eyes. A superficial opening allows the contents to be released and the opening to be cauterised for quick healing.
We avoid treating directly on the eyelid margin.
• Typical appointment time: 10–30 minutes, depending on the number and size of lesions.
• You may feel brief warmth or a prickling sensation; comfort options are available.
• A small superficial scab often forms and lifts naturally within 5–10 days.
• Most skin tags are removed in a single session. Milia may need more than one visit if multiple are present.
• Pause retinoids and strong acids (AHA/BHA) on the area for 3–5 days prior.
• Arrive with clean skin. Avoid sunbeds and heavy sun exposure; use SPF 50.
• After treatment, keep the area dry for 24 hours. Do not pick or scratch scabs.
• Avoid heat, saunas, steam, swimming, vigorous exercise and makeup on the area for 24–48 hours.
• Apply a soothing gel if needed and protect with SPF 50 during healing.
Pricing depends on the number, size and location of lesions and will be confirmed at consultation. Multiple skin tags can often be treated in a single appointment.
Is Electrolysis permanent? Yes. Electrolysis permanently destroys treated follicles. Multiple sessions are needed to catch hairs in the correct growth phase.
Does it work on light or white hairs? Yes—Electrolysis works on every hair colour.
How long is a session? From 10 minutes for small areas to 60 minutes+ for larger/denser areas.
Does it scar? When performed correctly with appropriate aftercare, the risk is very low. Temporary redness or small scabs can occur while healing.
A very warm welcome to all our transgender, intersexed, non-binary and gender fluid patients, past, present and future. We are an NHS approved Clinic and take referral’s for Laser and Electrolysis hair removal from the NHS. We also accept private paying clients.
Laser Hair removal is a cornerstone of gender-affirming care, often used to alleviate gender dysphoria by permanently reducing unwanted facial and body hair. For many transgender women, it is a vital step toward achieving a more feminine appearance and eliminating the “five o’clock shadow” that testosterone-driven facial hair can create.
For private paying patients, we offer a free consultation and patch test service. You can book an appointment by calling or sending a WhatsApp message to 07484 692680 or if you prefer you can book online using the link below.
• Gender Affirmation: Reducing visible hair like beard shadow can significantly help with "passing" and reducing dysphoria.
• Surgical Preparation: Many surgeons require "clearing" of hair from donor sites before gender-affirming surgeries (like vaginoplasty or phalloplasty) to prevent internal hair growth and complications.
• Skin Health: Eliminates the side effects of frequent shaving, such as razor burn, ingrown hairs, and scarring.
• Timeline: Most people require 6–12 sessions spaced 4–8 weeks apart. Results often start appearing after the third session.
• Effectiveness: Laser works best on dark hair and light skin because the laser targets melanin (pigment).
o Light Hair: It is generally not effective on blonde, grey, white, or red hair. However these hairs can be successfully removed using Electrolysis, which is also available as an alternative treatment at our Clinic.
o Skin Tone: We use the Cynosure Elite Plus system which are safe and effective for ALL skin types.
• Sensation: Often described as a "rubber band snap" against the skin. Our laser uses cooling technology to reduce discomfort.
• Compatibility: Laser Hair Removal (LHR) can be done at any stage of transition—before, during, or after starting HRT.
• Synergy: For transfeminine individuals, HRT (oestrogen and T-blockers) can slow new hair growth and make existing body hair finer, making Laser Hair Removal more effective. However, HRT usually does not eliminate established facial hair on its own.
If you are self-funding, we offer a free consultation and patch test service. Prices start from £30 per session for Laser or Electrolysis depending on which area you wish to have treated. We can offer tailor‑made packages to suit your needs. Courses of 6 sessions receive a 10% discount.
The Laser Me Clinic is an approved NHS provider of Laser Hair removal and Electrolysis treatments for Transgender patients. We primarily focus on facial hair and surgical site preparation.
NHS funding for Facial Hair Removal
Currently in England, once you have been referred, you will be entitled to 8 sessions of laser OR 16 hours of electrolysis (or a combination of both). Referred by your GIC to the Gender Dysphoria National Referral Support Service (GDNRSS).
Top-ups: The NHS does not fund maintenance sessions once your initial package is finished. Any further sessions must be self-funded and if required we can offer our services.
If you are undergoing gender-affirming genital surgery (like vaginoplasty or phalloplasty), the NHS may fund hair removal on the donor site if the surgeon deems it "medically necessary" to prevent post-op complications like internal hair growth.
• Referral: This is usually handled by your surgical team rather than your GIC.
• Methods: Laser is preferred for pigmented hair; electrolysis is used for light hair or if laser is ineffective.
For surgical site preparation (donor site epilation), the NHS typically funds as many sessions as required to achieve clinical clearance. Unlike facial hair removal, which has a standard cap, surgical site removal is considered a medical necessity to prevent post-operative complications.
Specific Donor Sites
• Vaginoplasty: Usually targets a specific area of the scrotum or penile base.
• Phalloplasty (RFF): Focuses on the "urethral strip" on the forearm—typically a 2-inch by 7-inch segment.
• Phalloplasty (ALT): Focuses on the donor site on the thigh.
To access NHS funding for transgender hair removal, the process depends on whether you need it for your face or for a surgical donor site. In all cases, you must first have a formal diagnosis of gender dysphoria from an NHS Gender Identity Clinic (GIC).
1. Funding for Facial Hair Removal
• The Referral: Your GIC clinician will submit a referral to the Gender Dysphoria National Referral Support Service (GDNRSS), which manages these requests for NHS England.
• The Package: In England, you are usually entitled to 8 sessions of laser or 16 hours of electrolysis (or a combination).
2. Funding for Surgical Site Preparation
• The Referral: This request comes from your surgical team after your initial consultation, rather than the GIC.
• Criteria: The surgeon must confirm that hair removal is required to prevent complications like internal hair growth or infections.
• Unlimited Sessions: Unlike the facial package, there is typically no fixed cap; funding is approved for as many sessions as needed to reach the surgeon's required level of "clearance".
3. If You Are Not on an NHS Pathway
• Individual Funding Request (IFR): Your GP can apply to your local Integrated Care Board (ICB) for an IFR.
• Success Rate: These are rarely granted for hair removal unless you can prove "clinical exceptionality"—meaning your situation is significantly different or more severe than others with the same condition.
• The information is for educational purposes only.
• Patients must confirm eligibility with their specific Gender Identity Clinic (GIC) or GP.
• Funding is subject to local Integrated Care Board (ICB) or NHS Board approval.
