Laser Peel (Cynosure Elite+)

The Cynosure Elite+ is a medical-grade, dual-wavelength laser (755 nm Alexandrite and 1064 nm Nd:YAG). While primarily known for laser hair removal, it can function as a "laser skin peel" through non-ablative skin rejuvenation and pigmentation reduction. It targets sun spots, age spots, freckles, and uneven texture without breaking the skin's surface.

How the Laser Skin Peel Works

Instead of physically removing the top layer of skin like traditional chemical peels or ablative lasers, the Elite+ uses targeted light energy.

Pigmentation Reduction: The laser energy is absorbed by excess melanin in pigmented areas, breaking down sunspots and freckles while keeping surrounding tissue safe.

Skin Revitalization: The heat generated by the laser stimulates natural collagen production beneath the surface, resulting in a smoother texture and reduced fine lines.

Benefits

• Brighter, more even skin tone
• Softens the look of sun spots and uneven pigmentation
• Refines the appearance of pores and smooths texture
• Fresh, healthy-looking glow
• Helps soften the look of fine lines over a series

Who is a good candidate?

• Dullness, uneven tone or early sun damage
• Mild pigmentation/age spots and residual post-inflammatory marks
• Textural concerns and the look of enlarged pores
• Suitable across a wide range of skin types with appropriate settings. Not ideal over fresh tans, active infections, or while using photosensitising medications.

Treatment plan & downtime

Most sessions take 20–30 minutes. You can expect a series of 3–4 treatments spaced 2–4 weeks apart, with many clients noticing a brighter, clearer look after the first session. Downtime is minimal—temporary redness or warmth usually settles within hours.

Before your appointment

• Avoid sun exposure, tanning beds and self-tan for 1–2 weeks
• Pause retinoids/exfoliating acids for 3–5 days (unless advised otherwise)
• Arrive with clean skin; remove makeup on treatment areas

Aftercare

• Use broad-spectrum SPF 30–50 daily
• Keep skincare gentle for 24–48 hours; avoid hot yoga/saunas the first day
• Don’t pick or scrub if pigment temporarily darkens before clearing

Safety & expected responses

Common, temporary effects include mild redness and warmth. Pigmented spots may darken before flaking or fading. Your clinician will review your skin and tailor settings for comfort and safety.
